Last year 14% of students in UK Universities had a disability. These students have developed skills, competencies and abilities to manage their disability in a world that isn’t always geared up for it; skills such as resilience, determination, problem solving and communication skills. Enlightened employers recognise that these are the skills that they recruit for and therefore, if they really want to attract and recruit the most talented individuals, they have to be truly inclusive; and that obviously includes those who have a disability. However, without knowledge, expertise and guidance it can be challenging to do this.

This webinar provided delegates with all they needed to start their disability confidence recruitment journey. From understanding what is covered by the term ‘disability’ and the challenges that people face in the workforce, to inclusive recruitment and providing support, the basics were covered in sufficient detail to get them off the starting block.

Ideal for those who are new to the area of disability as well as those who have been working in this area for a while and wish to consider some of the key issues from a fresh perspective, this webinar helped them discover and reach a hidden talent pool that can bring value and benefit to their organisation.
