Engaging with disabled students and encouraging them to apply for early career opportunities is increasingly becoming a key focus for many organizations as the number of students identifying as disabled continues to increase. Although it may seem challenging, building an inclusive approach isn’t as difficult as it appears— the key lies in gaining a clear understanding of this talent pool.

Disabled students share the same career ambitions, goals, and expectations for an exceptional candidate experience as their non-disabled peers. However, their experience with the recruitment process often includes unique considerations that should be thoughtfully integrated into your attraction strategy, marketing messages, and candidate support systems.

In this workshop, we’ll be joined by Careers Advisers who specialize in supporting disabled students as they transition from education into the workforce. They will provide valuable insights into students' expectations, the qualities they look for in employers, and practical steps companies can take to connect effectively with this talent pool. Advisers will also address the kinds of support students may need throughout the hiring process and discuss how to provide reassurance when students request necessary accommodations.

This session is ideal for professionals in early talent attraction, marketing, recruitment, and HR who are looking to enhance their engagement with disabled students and develop an inclusive recruitment process.
